Hip-hop legends Public Enemy are bringing their latest album Black Sky Over the Projects: Apartment 2025 to physical formats on October 10. Following its surprise digital drop in June, the group will now issue the record on CD and vinyl, with three exclusive vinyl variants: “Earth” (Barnes & Noble/Natural Black Swirl Opaque Mix), “Wind” (MVDShop.com/Light Gray Marble, signed edition), and “Fire” (Zia Records/Blood Orange Opaque Mix).
Chuck D and Flavor Flav remain as vital as ever, delivering sharp critiques of politics, corporate greed, and societal problems while celebrating hip-hop culture itself. Tracks like “Here Come the Drums,” “March Madness,” and “Get Down” reaffirm Public Enemy’s commitment to music as protest and celebration. “This album is a give-back to all of our fans,” says Chuck D, while Flavor Flav adds: “We’re bringing our beats to the world.”
With a legacy that includes It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, Fear of a Black Planet, and Apocalypse 91, Public Enemy continues to set the standard for politically charged hip-hop.
