iconAclass – Changing Culture With Revolvers CD (Sabotage Records)

We’re witnessing countless unfortunate events almost regularly, and the highest percentage of these issues strikes the people of color, minorities, the working-class, and the poor. People are trying to make an honest living by struggling with capitalism each day, but it seems the oligarchy suppresses even more day by day. The rise of the right-wing movement, blatant racist propaganda, police brutality, mass-media manipulation, news spinning are just some of the instruments of power, but these elements are just the tip of an iceberg. Some musicians are pointing fingers at those problems through intelligent lyrics, and the engaging music helps them reach a wider audience. This already proven formula gives the best results in reaching out to a broader auditorium so these artists could convey their message in the best possible way.

iconAclass is one of those clever artists who practice this particular formula to gather like-minded people. His latest full-length album pinpoints the problems and seeks solutions to these issues through detailed lyrics and engaging beats. Changing Culture With Revolvers encapsulates all the defects of contemporary global society in one place and criticizes the government, multinational corporations, authorities, police brutality, right-wing, media manipulation, and many others along the way. On the contrary, iconAclass encourages bringing power back to the people, equal rights for people of color, free education, and the emancipation of the voiceless minorities. Changing Culture With Revolvers carries twelve politically charged hip-hop tunes that praise the revolution and evolution of contemporary society, so we could all live peacefully in the future.

This particular material leans toward old school hip-hop but doesn’t escape from the contemporary hip-hop trends at all. Still, it’s one of those hip-hop records that will suit admirers of an early nineties hip-hop scene. Everything resonates in that manner. From stalwart beats that are shaking the listening apparatus in all the possible directions to marvelously produced samples, iconAclass showcases how old school hip-hop still has a lot to offer to the new breed of fans. Stylistically, this album covers both the early nineties Eastside and mid-nineties Westside schools of hip hop, but you can also notice European hip hop style as the album proceeds. Still, Changing Culture With Revolvers showcases the brighter side of conscious rap, and most of the value of this release hides in meaningful, intelligent, empowering lyrics. This particular recording carries all the meaning in the lyrics, so I highly advise you to pay closer attention to the lyric sheet.

Changing Culture With Revolvers is currently up for the pre-orders, while the official release date is May 7th. You can choose between 180gr vinyl or compact disc, but I assume the album will be available at streaming services as well. Keep your eyes peeled to Sabotage Records Facebook and Bandcamp pages for more detailed information about ordering this powerful hip-hop record.
