Dream Bodies, the solo project of Steven Fleet, has unveiled its latest single Limerence. Known for blending post-punk, darkwave, and dreampop, Fleet draws inspiration from icons like The Cure, Joy Division, Clan of Xymox, and Cocteau Twins. Limerence leans into soaring synth-driven melodies reminiscent of New Order, while its lyrics dive into the heartbreak and anger of idealizing love gone wrong. A slight departure from previous guitar-driven releases, the track expands Dream Bodies’ sonic palette, offering a lighter surface sheen with darker undercurrents. Having toured internationally with bands like The Chameleons, Fleet has crafted a project that feels timeless and fresh, a “witchy distillation” of underground traditions filtered through his own voice. With Limerence, Dream Bodies continues to define itself as one of the most exciting emerging names in post-punk’s new wave.
