Chicago-based four-piece Bow & Spear have released their latest LP, Everything Melts, now available on all major streaming platforms. The album dropped on July 27, 2025, and will be celebrated with a release show at the iconic Empty Bottle on August 4. Known for fusing grunge dispassion, shoegaze textures, and punk ferocity, the band continues to carve its place in the Midwest underground scene.
Formed in 2012 by John Bergman and David Ritter, Bow & Spear first made waves with their acclaimed 2015 debut Into.” The lineup solidified with guitarist Tyler Ryssemus and bassist Dan Palella, who bring depth to the group’s raw, driving sound.
Recorded and mixed in their West Town practice space, Everything Melts leans into themes of failing relationships and heartbreak, infusing an emo edge into Bow & Spear’s heavy yet atmospheric songwriting.
