MVLL CRIMES Drop New Track “GWEN STVCEY”

After a year-long hiatus, MVLL CRIMES return with sharpened sound, heavier emotion, and a fire lit under their heels. Known for their explosive live shows and gut-punch lyricism, the London Ontario-based band straddles the line between punk urgency and post-hardcore intensity — delivering a raw, melodic chaos all their own.

Their comeback is marked by the self-released single “GWEN STVCEY”, a blistering, hook-laced track that captures the emotional weight and sonic fury of the band’s evolution. The single sets the stage for a new chapter — one that digs deeper, hits harder, and refuses to pull punches. Known for their visceral performances and raw connection with crowds, they’re not just picking up where they left off — they’re setting a new standard. Listen to the new single here

Speaking about the track, vocalist Jill shares, “The death of Gwen Stacey is considered the end of innocence in Marvel comics. Death and the end of innocence are inevitable. This is a song about trying to change what can’t be changed.”

To mark their return, MVLL CRIMES are hitting the road in July with a run of shows across Ontario, including R4A Fest in Toronto, and Punk Rock Flea Market in London.

Shows:

July 11 – Toronto – R4A fest

July 26 – Sarnia – Tecumseh Skate Jam

July 31 – London – PRFM

Aug 3 – Kitchener – Long Weekend Band Crawl

Background:

MVLL CRIMES formed in 2019 when guitarist Patrick Briggs teamed up with vocalist Jillian Clair to create something heavy and thought-provoking. Their first EP was written and recorded in a day, with vocals added after Jill completed her master’s degree. Joined by bassist Laurie McColeman, the band self-released their debut ROVDSIDE VTTRVCTIONS in 2020, just as the pandemic hit.

Undeterred, they wrote and recorded their follow-up EP BOOTLICKER’S DELIGHT in 2021 and began touring across Canada as restrictions eased. In 2022, they worked with Toronto label Cursed Blessings Records to release YOU EMBVRRVSS ME on vinyl and digital platforms.

Now repped by Matt Bresee of Atomic Music Group for Canadian touring, MVLL CRIMES have shared stages with Propagandhi, Comeback Kid, The Dirty Nil, Chastity, and Single Mothers among others. They’ve also been featured on CBC’s The Intro and Exclaim’s 8 Emerging Canadian Artists You Need to Hear.
