Fail The Enemy are an alternative rock/metal band based in Keighley, West Yorkshire. Comprised of 3 members, Nathan (lyricist and lead singer) Elliot (lead guitar) and Leah (Drums), blending a mixture of modern sounds but taking inspiration from early 80s synth music. Fail the enemy aims to tackle sensitive subjects such as depression and anxiety, love & loss and conflict & resolution. Re-formed in 2024, they aim to take up the reigns once more and engulf the music scene in a cloud of belting chorus, gang vocals and staunch riffs that have evolved and identified the bands sound since its first inception years ago.

Borrowed Hope is both a commentary and an admission of failure, the failure to live up to the image you created of yourself and the person you wanted to be when you were young, of breaking the promises of being something great in the eyes of the child you used to be, if that version of you could see you now, what would they feel? When they see you living a half-life and clinging onto a hope long past and a version of yourself that doesn’t exist anymore, it’s also an anthem for acceptance of this new person, of finding a new home and a reason for existence even if it’s different from the path you first set out upon, the making of new promises and the will to not break them this time, a song for new beginnings and lessons learnt, of growth and aging, maturity and accountability. Success through failure and discovering the way through exists, even if you’re blinded from seeing it all the time.”
