Purrses are a glam wave/art rock band based in Brussels. Their music is a strange mix of 70s/80s rock, punk energy with a modern twist: the bouncy rhythms of glam rock meet pop melodies, containers for sung, spoken and even rapped lyrics.
Purrses is a gateway to Laura Ruggiero‘s world of writing, composing, and producing music. Inevitably, her influences have been mixed and tinged with all the quirks that define Brussels’ alternative and underground scene.
After a self-produced debut EP and a second all-analog Wrong Tide EP released on three Belgian labels (JauneOrange, Rockerill Records, Belly Button Records), their highly anticipated debut album, Reality Fantasy, is released today.
The production this time is more experimental, mixing analog and digital techniques with Luc Bersier (Reymour) at the helm, giving this work a singular splendor. The promising band Purrses has a unique sound, off the beaten path. Raw, modern, unpredictable: an untamable rock mutation.
