Rabies To Release New Album “High On Sugar” On May 16th

HIGH ON SUGAR isn’t just a collection of songs—it’s a deep dive into a world obsessed with instant happiness, quick success, and easy fixes. Social media, politics, relationships, careers—everywhere we’re fed sweet promises that leave us empty and wanting more.

Sweets are just a metaphor. Sugar gives us a short-term high, but in the long run, it destroys us. Just like catchy political slogans, endless scrolling, synthetic escapes, and the illusion of success without effort. We want it all instantly, but we ignore the price we pay for it.

Sound & Message HIGH ON SUGAR is an energetic album with fast drums, catchy riffs, and melodies that stick in your mind. It’s skate punk with a pop-punk drive and lyrics that mean something. We’re not here to preach/lecture—just to open your eyes. Maybe it’s time to stop looking for shortcuts and do things the right way.

About RabiesRabies is a skate punk band that has been shaking up the music scene since 2009. Inspired by the 90s skate and punk scene, we draw influences from legendary bands like No Use for a Name, Rancid, NOFX, Useless ID, Descendents, Rise Against, Millencolin, Pennywise, Good Riddance, Strung Out, The Bouncing Souls and many more.

Over the years we have shared the stage with bands like Billy Talent (CAN), Anti-Flag (USA), Lagwagon (USA), Ignite (USA), Bouncing Souls (USA), The Wilhelm Scream, Dog Eat Dog (USA), Evergreen Terrace (CAN), Mute (CAN) and played major festivals, including five appearances at Mighty Sounds, the most important ska punk hardcore festival in Central Europe.

Our journey has taken us all over the world—from our 2019 Japan tour with RNR Tourbooking to our planned 2020 South American tour, which was unfortunately postponed due to COVID. We made up for it with an unforgettable performance at Punk Rock Holiday 2.1 in Slovenia, where Bad Religion headlined. In 2022, we’ll be touring with our LP Something Tasty!, which we’ll be supporting with shows in France, Austria, and Germany.

2024-2025: High on SugarIn 2024, we recorded our latest album, HIGH ON SUGAR, a hard-hitting examination of society’s obsession with instant gratification, consumerism, and false promises. Produced by Damian Kučera (Sound Rapids Studio) and designed by Ovcharkart, the album is packed with fast drums, catchy riffs, and heartfelt messages. The album will be released on May 16, 2025, on all streaming platforms; a vinyl edition will be available at our album release shows. Following the release shows, we’ll play Mighty Sounds, where Millencolin, Hot Water Music, and Gorilla Biscuits, among others, will be headlining.
