Indie rock legend Johnny Marr, renowned for his groundbreaking work with The Smiths, thrilled fans with a surprise appearance alongside post punk heroes Franz Ferdinand on Saturday (January 18). The special moment unfolded during Amazon Music UK’s Sounds in the City Session in Manchester, where Marr joined the Glaswegians to perform a trio of songs that electrified the audience.

The set included a rousing rendition of The Smiths’ classic “Bigmouth Strikes Again,” Franz Ferdinand’s signature hit “Do You Want To,” and their fresh track “Build It Up” from their new album The Human Fear, released earlier this month.

The collaboration is already making waves, as fans share clips of the energetic performance online, showcasing Marr and Franz Ferdinand’s unmistakable chemistry on stage.
