A self-titled EP by DISTANT RELATIVES is out now via It`s Eleven Records.
Distant Relatives from Leipzig emerge from the twilight and hurl a monolith of post-punk and death rock against all the mediocrity that has recently befallen the genre. Max’s guitar rages through the seven songs like shattered bulletproof glass. Like a chameleon, Marleen’s voice wraps itself around the harmonies. She sings about her inner demons and her relationship to the world, hauntingly and with biting wit. At the same time, the rhythm of drummer Alex and bassist Albrecht drives you relentlessly against the wall. All this happens with an almost panicked urgency, without a pathetic nostalgia filter.
Crystal clear recording/mixing by Alexander Günther (Studio Tutti) and punchy mastering by JB Meyrieux.”
