Sergio Todisco, also known as A giant echo, and as founding member of Italian rock band Last Eon, has released a new single called “Plunge”. The song is accompanied with an impressive music video directed by the musician himself.
Sergio Todisco, a songwriter and composer based in Cassino, Italy, better known as A giant echo, has been working hard on the production of his band Last Eon’s upcoming album, which is set be released on November 22, 2024. However, he is still motivated to write songs. As a result, he releases singles that are not part of his concept albums as he waits for the proper moment to begin work on his next big thing.
A giant echo was born from the songs of Todisco. His sound is influenced by a variety of artists, including songwriters such as Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave, bands such as Radiohead and Sigur Ros, as well as more contemporary composers like Morricone, post-rock bands such as Godspeed You Black Emperor, The Silver Mt Zion, and other alternative rock and folk music.
Songs by Ghosts and Machines was his debut digital release in 2018, and Resins 2 followed in 2022. The single “Plunge” was released early October 2024.
Todisco mostly creates and arranges songs, sings, and plays guitars. Although he can also play bass, computer synths, and drums, he is accompanied by bandmates Riccardo Bianchi on drums, Davide Pascarella on bass, and Marco Lucci on synths.
In particular, on “Plunge,” he is joined by backing vocalist Serena Pagnani and drummer Riccardo Bianchi.
We observe two individuals in the same setting who, despite occasionally appearing to be conscious of one another’s existence, never actually meet. Facing the same reality, they create and follow two distinct, opposing paths which lead one to move from her initial, static position, escaping from the limits that surround her, and project herself into a liberating motion, that leads her elsewhere; the other one remains within that circle that delimitates his possibilities, fathoming his boundaries, until he sets into a position that had previously been of the one of other character.
It might be the tale of two people who see one other in the same setting but on different journeys; it could be a fight between two contrasting personalities or tendencies that coexist inside one individual.
