Red Deer, Alberta’s Safety Gear’s sophomore EP titled “That’s What’s up” is a mix of old and new songs they have created over the past 6 years of the band’s existence. The end goal in producing and releasing this EP was, in a sense, lay to rest the old, and usher in a new era of music the band plan on creating in the future. Math Rock? Midwest Emo? Pop Punk? Maybe all of the aforementioned, and more? All 5 tracks on the EP sound different from the last. They just hope you like it.
The band previously released a 2 song self-titled EP via High End Denim Records and consider “That’s What’s Up” to be a huge step forward in their songwriting abilities.
