The Pulltops – Mission Control

If you paid close attention to our pages in the last couple of years, you probably noticed the duo called The Pulltops. Then you also learn these experienced musicians never cease to amaze with their ability to write, compose, arrange, and produce catchy, memorable, engaging songs that keep attention and remain long after the music ends. That’s the case with “Mission Control,” their latest composition that will immediately become your go-to track whenever you need tastefully composed and flawlessly composed music. It’s their fifth piece of work this year, arriving right after their recent extended play release “Sight Lines,” and three standalone singles such as “Here We Are,” 3-2-1- Go,” and “Waiting Here.” By now, you already learned these folks are not joking around with their music, so their latest single carries many outstanding vocal, sonic, and rhythmic maneuvers worth repeating over and over again. Those who somehow missed our articles about this fascinating duo may expect the fine blend of several different but complementary music genres. You’ll notice how some of the finest sonic ingredients like classic rock, alternative rock, indie rock, pop rock, and many other similar genres found their way into this sonic equation. All of them play a significant role in shaping such a rich and luxurious sound in one way or another.

The vocal harmonies are one of the standout features of this magnificent sonic voyage. The Pulltops always made this feature a top priority. You’ll hear how outstanding performance commands attention and guides the listening apparatus while emphasizing every segment and instrumentation. The impressive vocal range seamlessly balances between low, mid, and high notes, spicing things up and uplifting everything on an entirely new level. The back vocals and singalongs give that anthemic feel that is one of the key features in any rock subgenre. In the meantime, the interplay between rhythm and lead guitars shapes a perfect backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. You’ll hear several layers of guitar roaming around, creating a lush ambiance. The catchy, engaging, memorable riffs and chord progressions resonate on one side while the other shines with leads, themes, melodies, harmonies, and other sonic delicacies. Also, it’s nearly mindblowing how guitars and vocals pair together harmoniously from scratch to finish. There’s also a layer of synth and keys, adding depth and complexity through expertly assembled melodies and ambiances.

The Pulltops also thought about the rhythm section, which in this case, serves as a backbone. It propels the mentioned instrumentation to new heights with equally intricate, audible, warm-sounding basslines that offer more than necessary heaviness, clarity, and depth while binding synths and guitars with drums. The marvelous drumming performance contributes tremendously by keeping everything in line while dictating groove and pace. The comprehensive collection of moderate, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics gives the more than necessary punch, creating a perfect platform for all other orchestrations to shine upon. “Mission Control” carries everything you love about modern and classic rock music. With the additional elements borrowed from alternative, indie, and pop rock, this track has all the vital ingredients that make a perfect rock song. From magnificent vocal harmonies, engaging chord progressions, and delicate synths to intricate low-ends and impressive drumming, “Mission Control” is a rock masterpiece worth revisiting over and over again. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
