Berlin-based singer/songwriter Kitty Solaris has released “Peace Train,” the second single off her upcoming new album “James Bond,” which will be released on July 19, 2024 via her own label, Solaris Empire.
Kitty Solaris is a well-known Berlin singer/songwriter who draws inspiration from her favorite bands, Sonic Youth, The Cure, The Velvet Underground, and Cat Power. She created her distinctive style in her Berlin kitchen accompanied by an electric guitar and gloomy melodies. Her headlines and hooklines are always direct and to the point.
Available on all digital platforms from May 10, 2024, the second single from the album is entitled “Peace Train” and combines the sound of bands like New Order with the vibe of the hippie era and is reminiscent of the title of Cat Stevens, although the song sounds more like the wave bands from the 80s. “Walk in the shoes of your enemies, what would you do – what would you say.” “Peace Train” is a manifestation of boarding the “Peace Train” and transports the era of Woodstock, John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
The Music Video was edited by Jonathan Mayer. It combines historical film from the Prellinger archives with additional footage shot in Berlin’s streets and gardens, including Villa Kuriosum, an art space and garden near the S-Bahn in Lichtenberg for alternative music and culture.
