1AM – Take Me Home (Cloud Nine) (feat. Jake Gooding)

Take Me Home (Cloud Nine)” is a new track by 1AM, a creative London-based duo consisting of Eve Eccles & Hounam Ehtemam. It’s their first piece of work since 2022, featuring Jake Gooding’s appearance, and it talks about the naivety of enjoying a toxic relationship. Soundwise, 1AM combines many different but complementary music genres to illustrate such rich and luxurious sonic imagery. Perhaps dream pop comes to mind first, but you’ll notice how other subgenres like electro-pop, dark pop, and alt-pop lurk around. Still, the duo also incorporated subtle touches of trap, hip-hop, R&B, and cinematic ambient lurks around in the mix. 1AM uses all these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details while they simultaneously remain loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, their experimentations with many different but complementary styles resulted in a mesmerizing number that will appeal to the broader auditorium.

As soon as you press play, you’ll notice how “Take Me Home (Cloud Nine)” contains a cleverly assembled song structure stacked with many segments. Each section unveils a carefully planned collision between brilliant ideas and exceptional musicianship. 1AM thought about everything, from those vividly hearable orchestrations to the tiniest details and nuances. Eve Eccles’ outstanding vocal performance shines in the limelight with a perfect vocal range that balances low, mid, and high notes with precision and finesse. The way these vocal harmonies emphasize all the segments and orchestrations goes beyond comprehension. In the meantime, Hounam Ehtemam supports these harmonies with similar vocal maneuvers, and their interplay sounds superb from scratch to finish. Jake Gooding’s guest appearance spices things up and uplifts this track on an entirely new level.

This song wouldn’t sound this good without an expertly arranged rhythm section. You’ll notice how subtle, delicate, well-accentuated, moderate beats, breaks, and other percussive acrobatics dictate groove and tempo, but also keep the remainder of the instrumentations in line. In the meantime, the powerful low-ends offer heaviness, depth, and clarity while acting as a binding element between the rhythmic patterns and other orchestrations. You’ll also hear how the tastefully arranged leads, themes, melodies, harmonies, accentuations, and other sonic maneuvers serve as a perfect backdrop for all the vocal performances. Everything sounds top-notch from scratch to finish. This profoundly creative duo also thought about the sound quality, so “Take Me Home (Cloud Nine)” meets all the trends in modern music production.

“Take Me Home (Cloud Nine)” is a one-of-a-kind listening experience you surely don’t want to miss. Eve Eccles & Hounam Ehtemam demonstrate all their experience, knowledge, skills, and talent, resulting in a perfect comeback track that vividly showcases all their marvelous ideas and exceptional musicianship. You should put “Take Me Home (Cloud Nine)” on your radar as soon as possible if you’re looking for an excellent modern dream pop track empowered with some of the finest properties borrowed from other complementary music genres. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
