New Jersey punk stalwarts THE RATCHETS have released a new digital single called “Street Manners,” accompanied with a remix by Strawberry Zaiquiri titled “Manners Avenue.” Click here to listen.
The release of “Street Manners” kicks off the 20 year anniversary for these long-time members of the Pirates Press Records family. The song is the lead-off track of a multi-year schedule of monthly new non-album singles.
Angry, smart, with acute pop arrangements and sensibilities, “Street Manners” transforms working-class frustrations into galvanizing rock ‘n’ roll; both broad and sincere, with unforgettable choruses and chants, the track sneers at consumerism, advertising and the moneyed class. “Just watch the kids, they always get it right.”
Fans will also be treated to a remix of the song, titled “Manners Avenue,” done by Strawberry Zaiquiri, a reggae/dub-influenced take on the track.
