The Silence Industry – Forward, And / Or Dust

Forward, And / Or Dust” is the latest single by The Silence Industry, a Vancouver-based solo project. It’s the title track from the brand-new four-track EP. Soundwise, The Silence Industry combines several different but complementary music genres. Perhaps goth rock comes to mind first, but you’ll notice how some other genres found their way into this ear-appealing sonic equation. You’ll unquestionably notice some of the finest properties borrowed from post-punk, post-rock, industrial, alternative rock, etc. The Silence Industry uses all these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that undoubtedly uplift this composition on an entirely new level, while the artist remains loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, these experimentations with different but complementary music genres resulted in an exceptional number that will appeal to even the pickiest listeners and beyond.

As soon as you press play, you’ll notice how The Silence Industry invested all his experience, knowledge, skills, talent, and ideas into this track, and the effort paid off in a catchy song full of impressive sonic and rhythmic maneuvers. “Forward, And / Or Dust” carries a rich and luxurious ambiance achieved by cleverly stacking layers of flawlessly arranged instrumentations. The Silence Industry relies upon calm, soothing, ethereal, reverby leads, themes, melodies, harmonies, chord progressions, and riffs, which are vividly hearable throughout the entire track. The guitars continuously duel for dominance with leads and themes shining on one side while chord progressions burst with tremendous power on the other. These dualities work to the advantage of the song, serving as a perfect backdrop that fully supports outstanding vocal performance. You’ll hear how sincere, confident, emotive, and powerful vocal harmonies balance between low, mid, and high notes, emphasizing all the segments and instrumentations. In the meantime, the bass guitar offers equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding low-end notes that provide more than necessary heaviness, clarity, and depth. This number wouldn’t sound this good without profoundly detailed rhythmic sequences based upon moderate, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. Every instrument plays a significant role in this mesmerizing sonic equation that immediately grabs your attention and refuses to let go until the closure.

No matter if you’re into post-rock, post-punk, goth rock, industrial, or any other similar music genre, “Forward, And / Or Dust” will immediately appeal to your listening apparatus thanks to The Silence Industry’s brilliant ideas and impressive musicianship. With its calm, soothing, ethereal ambiance, this title track invites you to deep dive into the remainder of the digital 7″ release. You should put this magnificent track on your radar as soon as possible. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
