The Silence Industry – The Crawling Eye

The Crawling Eye” is the latest digital 7″ by The Silence Industry, a Vancouver-based artist. It includes a title track, “The Real Cosmic Horror Is Your Job,” and “The Maw Of Sleep;” three exceptional compositions that will appeal to even the pickiest listeners. Soundwise, the artist combines the fundamentals of goth rock and post-punk with some of the finest properties borrowed from darkwave, coldwave, art rock, alternative, and cinematic ambient music. The Silence Industry uses all these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to uplift these tracks on an entirely new level, while simultaneously remaining loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, these experimentations with many different but complementary styles resulted in an outstanding digital 7″, suitable for anyone even remotely into goth rock, post-punk, darkwave music, and beyond.

This release commences with “The Crawling Eye,” a longevous piece that explores all the vital qualities of the mentioned music genres. The Silence Industry immediately showcases he’s capable of writing, composing, arranging, recording, and producing marvelous darkwave-infused goth rock tracks where also all the significant post-punk elements shine in the limelight. His outstanding vocal abilities act as a centerpiece, emphasizing all the segments and orchestrations. These vocal harmonies balance between low, mid, and high notes with such ease, commanding attention and keeping the listener engaged from scratch to finish. The guitars immensely support all his vocal maneuvers by delivering marvelous, tastefully assembled, reverby leads, themes, melodies, and harmonies on one side, while the other bursts with powerful chord progressions and riffs. The synths also play one of the major roles by enhancing and accentuating all these guitar works with catchy ambiances. Still, these sonic maneuvers don’t overwhelm the remainder of the instrumentations, proving The Silence Industry thought about everything while assembling and arranging this magnificent goth rock song.

The rhythm section offers immense support to all these aural maneuvers. You’ll notice how the equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines roar right beneath all these orchestrations, offering more than necessary heaviness, clarity, and depth while simultaneously binding them with rhythmic structures. The exceptional drumming dictates groove and tempo with profoundly intricate beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics, keeping the instrumentations in control. Everything sounds top-notch, and “The Crawling Eye” is undoubtedly one of the best goth-rock tracks this year. “The Real Cosmic Horror Is Your Job” and “The Maw Of Sleep” are more cinematic ambient tracks that will appeal to all avant-garde and experimental music fans. The Silence Industry fully stacked both compositions with some of the finest soundscapes, ambiances, and drones you’ll hear in a while. Still, you’ll also notice how some industrial noise and field recording found their way into this sonic equation, proving that this artist can write and compose in any genre. “The Maw Of Sleep” even goes further by including goth rock, goth pop, and industrial while still maintaining a cinematic and dark ambient sound. All three numbers resonate with a distinctive atmosphere that will immediately grab your attention and refuse to let go until the closure. You should put The Silence Industry and his “The Crawling Eye” digital 7″ on your radar as soon as possible because this is a goth rock masterpiece you surely don’t want to miss. It’s available on all streaming platforms.
