Bromsen – Someone

Someone” is the latest track by Bromsen, a Berlin-based indie duo. It’s their first composition in 2024 that serves as a perfect follow-up to “Read About It” and “We,” two excellent singles these folks released last year. Soundwise, Bromsen continues delivering their recognizable sound. For those who might not know, they combine many different but complementary music genres to illustrate rich and luxurious sonic imagery. Perhaps indie rock comes to mind, but you’ll unquestionably stumble upon some of the finest properties borrowed from alternative, eighties rock, synth rock, synth pop, synth wave, and electronic music. These additional elements serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that undoubtedly uplift this number on an entirely new level, while the duo remains loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, their experimentations with different but complementary music genres resulted in a mesmerizing composition that will appeal to even the pickiest indie music fans.

As soon as you press play, you’ll notice how every instrument has its place and purpose in this sonic equation. Bromsen thoroughly planned every segment, vocal, sonic, and rhythmic maneuver, so marvelous listening experience is guaranteed. The outstanding vocal performance is the centerpiece, emphasizing all the segments and orchestrations with perfect balance between low, mid, and high notes. These vocal harmonies also serve as guidance for the listeners from scratch to finish, signifying upcoming parts of the song. Bromsen fully stacked their latest single with some of the best leads, themes, melodies, harmonies, chord progressions, and riffs, delivered on tastefully distorted guitars. The guitars act as a perfect backdrop for the vocal harmonies but also contribute to the complexity of the song. However, Bromsed didn’t stop there. Quite the contrary, they also incorporated many synth themes and leads, which unquestionably come like a cherry on top.

Of course, this composition wouldn’t sound this powerful without equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines that offer more heaviness, depth, and clarity. The exceptional drumming performance dictates groove and pace with energetic, well-accentuated, flawlessly executed beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. The rhythm section also keeps the remainder of the instrumentations in line. Each instrument plays a significant role in shaping such a profoundly detailed atmosphere where all the melodies, harmonies, themes, and leads perfectly match the low ends and beats while the vocals masterfully guide through every segment. The duo invested all their experience, knowledge, skills, and ideas, and the effort paid off in a marvelous indietronic track that will instantly become a staple on your playlist. Their ability to incorporate the finest elements, break all the rules, and shapeshift the boundaries of many genres make them one of the bands you should keep your eyes on. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
