Wasson!? – Shoulder To Shoulder

Shoulder to Shoulder” is a brand-new song by Wasson!?, a Cornwall-based punk rock band. It’s a debut single from their upcoming full-length album. The song tackles the theme of brotherly love and loss, outlining the importance of managing grief and looking out for friends and family. Soundwise, Wasson!? combine several different music genres to illustrate the rich and luxurious sonic imagery. Perhaps classic punk rock comes to mind first, but you’ll immediately notice how some other genres found their way into this fine piece of sonic artistry. Don’t be surprised if you stumble upon some elements borrowed from modern melodic punk rock, indie rock, and even melodic DC hardcore music. Wasson!? used these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that uplift this song on an entirely new level, while the band remains loyal to the primary sonic direction. These experimentations with so many different styles resulted in a magnificent debut composition that will appeal to anyone even remotely into punk rock music.

This band sounds so fresh and unique thanks to their unique approach to punk rock. As soon as you press play, you’ll hear semi-distorted chord progressions and riffs that undoubtedly serve as a perfect backdrop for sincere, confident, powerful vocal performance. These vocal harmonies decorate every segment of the song, while the guitars deliver more than necessary melody and harmony to the mix. You’ll notice how the main theme continuously lurks throughout the entire song, and that particular detail makes “Shoulder to Shoulder” even more catchy and ear-appealing. The equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines support these sonic maneuvers but also provide more than necessary heaviness, clarity, and depth. Of course, this composition wouldn’t sound this good without outstanding drumming performance based upon energetic, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. Every band member plays a significant role in shaping such a mesmerizing ambiance, and it’s nearly mindblowing how many brilliant ideas they stacked in it.

They thought about even the tiniest details. You’ll notice that Wasson!? thoroughly planned the entire song structure, so every segment comes with plenty of sonic delicacies and surprises. They invested all their knowledge, experience, skills, talent, ideas, and musicianship while assembling this debut single, and their effort paid off in a magnificent song that will undoubtedly end on your indie playlist. Therefore, if you’re looking for a fresh and unique take on punk rock sound, “Shoulder to Shoulder” will be a perfect choice for you. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
