Thy Veils – Here We Are Sidereal

Here We Are Sidereal” is a new single by Romanian duo Thy Veils. It is their second track this year, serving as an adequate follow-up to “Upstream,” another exceptional song released earlier. Accompanied by an eye-peeling, theatric, colorful, magnificent video, “Here We Are Sidereal” celebrates humanity’s first cosmic holiday. The song represents an audio-visual treat for all the senses and will appeal to even the pickiest listeners. Soundwise, Thy Veils combine many styles to depict rich and luxurious sonic imagery. Perhaps indie rock comes to mind first, but you will unquestionably notice how the finest properties borrowed from other complementary music genres found their way into this sonic equation.

Don’t be surprised if you stumble upon sonic ingredients taken from post-rock, synth rock, synthwave, synth pop, alt-pop, dark pop, etc. You’ll also hear vital qualities of cinematic ambient, progressive, experimental, and avant-garde music. All these additional elements serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that uplift this composition on an entirely new level, while Thy Veils remain loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, these experimentations resulted in a catchy, hypnotic, ethereal synth indie number that will suit fans of the genre and beyond.

1 / 7

Thy Veils are all about sonic experience, so “Here We Are Sidereal” exemplifies their dedication to the craft. You’ll notice how many layers of synth sequences, themes, leads, basslines, and other soundscapes serve as a perfect backdrop for outstanding vocal harmonies that skillfully range through each segment with a perfect balance between low, mid, and high notes. The tremendous vocalist offers a magnificent, confident, sincere performance that emphasizes not only these synth maneuvers, but all the instrumentations included within the song. Thy Veils also thought about rhythmic support, so you’ll notice wisely arranged electronic and synth beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics contributing to the groove and pace, but also keeping the remainder of the instrumentations in line.

It’s nearly mindblowing how the duo thoroughly planned every section, paying attention to even the tiniest details, intricacies, instrumentations, and vocal lines. The entire composition tackles all the senses, while the accompanying video offers a cathartic visual experience with all the neon light works, dancers, and musicians involved. It’s an audio/visual treat you don’t want to miss because “Here We Are Sidereal” carries so many jaw-dropping moments where brilliant ideas, creativity, talent, and exceptional musicianship collide in delivering a marvelous experience. The single is available on all streaming platforms, while the video is available on Thy Veils’ YouTube channel. Don’t miss it!
