Rising Norwich (UK) 5 piece Read The Room announce the release of their ‘Same Old Story’ video single and the arrival of their 5 track debut EP ‘A Place Like No Other‘.
The ‘Same Old Story‘ video features front-woman Alana Beardsley-Best simply ‘Messing around and having fun‘ and was filmed and edited entirely on her phone.
Released on 6th October 2023 – ‘A Place Like No Other’ EP is a potent introduction to a band who radiate with modern pop-rock nuances whist embracing reverent stylings of 90’s/2000’s punk, emo and alt-rock. Produced by bassist Dan Dawson at his home studio, the 5 track offering is an amalgamation of creations driven by each group member and their eclectic musical tastes. Citing key influences such as Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Biffy Clyro, Blink 182 and Foo Fighters – the British comrades create their own sonic cocktail of pop-punk edged alternative rock. Catchy melodic hooks, punchy chorus lines and relatable lyrical themes are all deeply embedded within their debut EP. Featuring recent singles ‘Jade‘ and ‘Same Old Story‘, ‘A Place Like No Other‘ contains diligently shaped songs that possess their own authentic character and showcase the depth of the band’s cross-genre creativity and appeal.
‘A Place Like No Other’ EP is available now on all major digital platforms.
Formed in 2023, Read The Room are Alana Beardsley-Best (Vocals), Adam Hearth (Guitar), Alex London (Guitar), Dan Dawson (Bass) and Elle Steele (Drums/Vocals).
