Untamed and furious, Tripper are the next band primed to make waves out of the Baltimore hardcore scene. Today, the quartet announces their debut EP, People Die Every Day, out November 3rd and share lead single, “Pressed.” The speedy track packs bouncy riffs and a sharp, rage-filled vocal delivery from vocalist Alex Szydelska. Combining hardcore with powerviolence and more experimental elements, Tripper draws influence from bands like Converge and Punch, while also fitting right alongside acts like Jivebomb and Gouge Away. People Die Every Day was recorded with Kevin Bernsten (End It, Full of Hell) at Developing Nations, mixed by Matt Redenbo (Jivebomb, Praise) and mastered by James Plotkin. You can listen to “Pressed” now on Bandcamp and streaming services.
On writing “Pressed,” Alex states: “I’ve mostly written about my experience with mental health – some moments that changed me and exploring difficult feelings – but generally want our songs to be positive or perhaps empowering. ‘Pressed’ is about recovering from CPTSD and feeling like it’s never ending, but also the process of coming back to yourself.”
Having formed in 2022 and playing their first show in May 2023, Tripper has already been able to share the stage with notable acts including Loma Prieta, MSPAINT, and Alienator.
