Black Rose Burning – Night Terrors / Sing To Me (E.L.E.)

Black Rose Burning, an NYC-based outfit formed in 2018, presents two new singles, “Night Terrors” and “Sing To Me (E.L.E.),” which showcase their musical prowess and creative abilities. Led by instrumentalist, producer, and engineer George Grant, the band also features guitarist Frank Morin (World Inferno Friendship Society) and drummer Luis Infantas (Monster Zero).

“Night Terrors” intertwines the fundamentals of post-punk with elements of goth rock, new gaze, alternative, and synthwave. The result is a unique blend that enhances their primary sonic direction without overshadowing it. The band’s focus on creating a mesmerizing and reverb-laden ambiance shines through outstanding vocal performance, catchy chord progressions, intricate basslines, and moderate rhythmic sequences. Each band member contributes significantly to the creation of a calm, soothing, and almost cathartic atmosphere that embodies the essence of these genres. Another detail that makes this composition even more interesting is the skillful incorporation of the synth leads, melodies, sequences, and ambiances. Black Rose Burning know what they’re doing with “Night Terrors,” and they’re doing it pretty well. This composition will immediately grab your attention, but wait until you hear the chorus. The chorus is on an entirely new level where all the vocal arrangements and orchestrations sound even more divine.

Similarly, “Sing To Me (E.L.E.)” builds upon the captivating ambiance of “Night Terrors,” but it seems like the group introduces more prominent synth themes and leads. These additions seamlessly complement the delicate guitar leads, melodies, chord progressions, and riffs, creating a cohesive musical experience. The rhythm section in this track also stands out, delivering depth and clarity through complex basslines and exceptional drumming built upon well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. The song’s anthemic chorus showcases the lead singer’s tremendous vocal performance, striking a perfect balance between low, mid, and high notes.
