Tired Radio – Lousy, Thanks 10″ EP (Sinking Ship Records / Gunner Records)

NYC emo/indie punk group Tired Radio recently released Lousy, Thanks 10″ EP via Sinking Ship Records and Gunner Records. Following their critically acclaimed debut full-length album Patterns, the band continues to showcase their irresistible combination of heartfelt melodies and energetic punk rock vibes. With this latest release, Tired Radio once again proves they are a force to be reckoned with in the DIY punk rock scene. Right from the first track, it becomes clear that Tired Radio has honed its craft and refined its sound. Catchy guitar leads, infectious themes, and memorable melodies grab your attention and refuse to let go. The band’s skillful use of harmonies adds depth and texture to each song, creating a rich sonic landscape that draws the listener in.

The guitar work on Lousy, Thanks is particularly noteworthy. While one guitar delivers powerful chord progressions and adrenaline-fueled riffs, the other shines with catchy leads that weave in and out of the music. These interlocking guitar parts create a dynamic interplay that keeps the songs engaging from start to finish. But Tired Radio isn’t just about guitars. The equally complex basslines and energetic drumming form a solid foundation for the music. The bass provides clarity and depth, adding groove and driving the songs forward. The drumming, with its well-accentuated beats, clever breaks, intricate fills, and other percussive acrobatics, adds another layer of excitement and dynamic to the overall sound.

However, the lead vocals on Lousy, Thanks truly steal the show. The raspy vocal harmonies serve as a centerpiece and guidance in each song, delivering heartfelt lyrics with raw emotion. Whether it’s a vulnerable, introspective moment or an anthemic sing-along chorus, the vocals never fail to captivate the listener. The genuine and relatable lyrics explore themes of self-discovery, relationships, and personal growth, resonating with anyone who has ever questioned or sought meaning in their lives. Tired Radio excels not only in their musicality but also in their songwriting, composing, and producing skills. Each track is carefully crafted, showcasing their ability to create catchy hooks and memorable melodies that stay with you long after the EP ends. It’s more than clear that the band possesses a keen sense of what makes a great song, and they consistently deliver on that understanding.

Lousy, Thanks showcases Tired Radio’s growth and maturation as a band while staying true to its roots. The EP exemplifies their unwavering dedication to producing top-notch music that resonates with listeners. From start to finish, the songs on this EP stand out as a cohesive collection that can be enjoyed as individual tracks or experienced as a whole, so Lousy, Thanks is an impressive addition to their discography. It is a must-listen for modern emo, indie punk, melodic punk rock, and pop punk fans. With their infectious tunes, catchy melodies, and heartfelt lyrics, the band continues to solidify their place in the punk rock music scene. This marvelous release comes on a gold 10″ vinyl via Sinking Ship Records or Gunner Records. Don’t miss it!
