Blackout The Arcade – Side-by-Side

After two excellent singles released in 2020, such as Walk Away and Limbo, Newcastle-based quartet Blackout The Arcade returns with another fine piece of sonic artistry that will unquestionably appeal to indie rock fans. Side-by-Side resonates with all the vital elements of this particular music genre, but it’s not the only style you’ll stumble upon. Quite the contrary, Blackout The Arcade fully stacked their latest composition with some of the finest properties borrowed from complementary genres like alternative, indie pop, and Brit-pop. Still, these additional elements serve more as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that unquestionably uplift this number on an entirely new level. Of course, Blackout The Arcade thought about everything while assembling Side-by-Side, so listening pleasure is more than guaranteed.

Blackout The Arcade stands out from the remainder of the contemporary scene, mainly because these folks know how to write, compose, and produce songs that resonate with a fresh and unique ambiance. You’ll immediately notice how this outstanding band included nothing but the finest themes, leads, melodies, harmonies, catchy chord progressions and riffs, equally complex basslines, and rhythmic sequences based upon energetic, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. Each instrument plays a significant role in shaping this mesmerizing atmosphere where every note and beat articulate with such harmony. Still, flawlessly performed lead vocal harmonies are the centerpiece of this ear-appealing number, and you’ll hear how skillful lead singer perfectly balances between low, mid, and high notes. Blackout The Arcade invested heart and soul in their brand-new composition, and there’s no doubt in my mind Side-by-Side will immediately end up on your indie playlist. These experienced musicians are not joking around with their music, and their new song will convince you why they’re one of the best modern indie rock bands in the UK. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
