Andrew Schneider – Hideaway

Chicago-based artist Andrew Schneider has already set the bar high with Introvert Love Songs and The Nearest Parallel, two outstanding extended play releases fully stacked with some of the best compositions you could hear. Now he’s back with Hideaway, the first single from Value Set, another exceptional EP due for release on June 30. This particular composition is a proper continuation of the previous works but also carries many innovations in writing, composing, and producing. It’s one of those numbers that unquestionably showcases the natural progressions of one of the most exciting, talented, and prolific artists that roam the contemporary music scene. Andrew Schneider embraces several music genres in order to depict luxurious sonic imagery, and perhaps Latin music comes to mind first, but it’s not the only style you’ll notice. Perhaps Hidaway carries the fundamentals of Latin music, but it also demonstrates how this particular music genre flawlessly works with elements of art rock, indie rock, soft rock, psych rock, progressive rock, and post-rock. You’ll also hear how some Bossanova found its way in this number, and it works like a charm in shaping such a mesmerizing ambiance.

Of course, all these additional elements are more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that affect the primary sonic direction based on the principal rules of hypnotic Latin rock music. Andrew Schneider invested so much time and effort into this track, and that’s vividly hearable in every moment, segment, sonic maneuver, or rhythmic acrobatic invested in this song. Naturally, Schneider’s ear-appealing vocal harmonies and divine explorations in more low, mid, or high-pitched notes serve as a centerpiece and guide throughout the Hideaway. Still, this song has many things to offer, so you’ll need to spin it repeatedly until you grasp everything this creative artist included. The way Andrew Schneider includes Latin percussions, reverby surf rock leads, acoustic chord progressions, warm-sounding basslines, and exceptional drumming sequences will blow you away, and these orchestrations are just the tip of the iceberg. Each of these beforementioned instruments contributes to the cathartic listening experience. Hideaway is one of the best songs you’ll hear this year. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
