Bacchanal – Trustabuser

After many excellent compositions, such as Carpet In The Bathroom, There’s A Reason I’m Alone, Hansel & Gretel, Oh…My Bikini, and Nursing A Beautiful Ulcer, Farnham-based trio Bacchanal returns with another exceptional standalone single that will unquestionably appeal to all the fans of an alternative rock sound. Perhaps Trustabuser carries the fundamentals of alternative rock, but the band also included some of the finest properties borrowed from other complementary music genres. You’ll immediately notice how grunge, shoegaze, post-punk, and indie rock inspired these profoundly creative musicians to write, compose and record such a luxurious, complex, and multi-layered song. Despite having so many layers of sound, Trustabuser is a perfectly balanced composition where every idea and sonic maneuver is vividly hearable.

Bacchanal builds complex ambiance based upon profoundly abrasive chord progressions and riffs while cleverly assembled, profoundly detailed, echoic melodies, themes, and leads lurk right above. It’s nearly mindblowing how these guitar dualities operate throughout the entire track while the equally complex, warm-sounding basslines provide more heaviness and depth. The exceptional drumming performance built upon well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics offers more than just the groove and dynamics to Trustabuser but also keeps the remainder of the orchestrations in line. Of course, this number wouldn’t sound so good without perfect vocal arrangements, and you’ll immediately notice how clean lead vocal harmonies perfectly match the raw guitars. Trustabuser sounds divine from scratch to finish, and you should check it out as soon as possible if you love complex, multi-layered alternative music. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
