Numbers Don’t Count – Looking For Love

German duo Numbers Don’t Count recently released Looking For Love, a final single that announced their highly anticipated debut album, Tell Your Grandma. This ear-appealing composition explores the fundamentals of the sixties power pop sound, but don’t be surprised if you stumble upon other music genres along the way because these skillful musicians incorporated some of the finest sonic maneuvers. There’s a pretty good reason why Number’s Don’t Count decided for Looking For Love to be their final single before releasing their full-length. It’s one of those compositions that invites you to delve deep into the calm, soothing, cheerful, danceable sounds and beats included in Tell Your Grandma or even revisit some of their previous works.

Looking For Love also includes some elements of classic rock ‘n’ roll, soft rock, and indie rock that unquestionably serve as enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that define some of the best power pop songs. You’ll immediately notice how flawlessly performed vocal harmonies nicely fit with slightly reverby, catchy, semi-distorted chord progressions. The other guitar delivers beautiful solos, melodies, and other guitar licks, while the warm-sounding basslines give more depth and clarity to the entire song. Of course, Looking For Love wouldn’t sound so energetic without groovy, profoundly dynamic rhythmic sequences built upon moderate beats, breaks, drum fills, and other percussive acrobatics. The entire number bursts with brilliant ideas and outstanding musicianship that shape the mesmerizing ambiance. Numbers Don’t Count thoroughly planned each sonic maneuver while writing, composing, and producing Looking For Love, so you should check out this excellent song as soon as possible. The single and the album are available on all streaming platforms.
