Fresh off the back of a riotous UK/EU tour – Scottish Alternative Music Awards’ best rock/alternative winners – GALLUS reveal their brand-new track ‘Moderation’. The track is taken form the new album ‘We Don’t Like the People We’ve Become’, set for release 9th June 2023 on Marshall Records. Pre-order – HERE.
The new single shows of the band’s innate ability to blend their roguish punk attitude and indie-rock hooks, with their signature dark, Glaswegian sense of humour, and a slice of neuroticism for good measure. ‘Moderation’ are the bittersweet ramblings of chasing the gamblers high, and the inevitable crash back to reality.
The announcement is accompanied by the band’s tongue-in-cheek new video ‘Moderation’. Speaking on their latest offering, vocalist Barry Dolan comments: “How many times am I going to lose money on stupid bets that put little thought into, until I realise that I should stop?” exclaims Dolan. “This was the main thought in my head whilst writing Moderation. Convincing yourself that you are probably going to be rich one day if you keep gambling your money away. Consistently grabbing at problematic activities in your life because you have convinced yourself, many moons ago, that it will one day make you a winner. That’s what I say to myself in the mirror, at least”.
