Chip & The Charge Ups – Paying Back The Devil

After excellent singles like Flow Of The Current I & II, Black And Gold Christmas, Under The Exit Sign, The Nightmare’s Over, and a critically acclaimed debut full-length album Lightning In Our Veins, Pittsburgh-based trio Chip & The Charge Ups returns with another powerful composition that will unquestionably appeal to all the fans of alternative rock music. Paying Back The Devil is a perfect follow-up to their previous works and the first single this year. However, the band brings many ideas and innovations to the table with this one. Maybe Chip & The Charge Ups almost solely rely upon the fundamentals of an alternative rock sound, but some other music genres are lurking around. You’ll notice some of the finest properties of hard rock, glam rock, rock ‘n’ roll, and indie, but don’t be surprised if you stumble upon some other elements along the way.

You’ll immediately hear outstanding vocal harmonies, back vocals, and singalongs. The vocal parts sound mindblowing from scratch to finish, and even the accentuations implemented during the verses are divine. Of course, this song wouldn’t sound this good without powerful, heavy, cleverly assembled riffs, chord progressions, melodies, harmonies, and other sonic delicacies. The sound engineer/producer skillfully blended the low-end channel right beneath the thick layer of guitars, but you’ll hear all the basslines without any difficulties. The exceptional drumming performance is solely responsible for all the dynamics in this composition, and you’ll enjoy all the flawlessly arranged rhythmic sequences decorated with many accentuations, drum fills, enhancements, and other percussive acrobatics. Paying Back The Devil will be a perfect fit for those listeners looking for rock ‘n’ roll-infused contemporary alternative music. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
