After a couple of exceptional singles like Are You Thinking Of Me and Close To The End, Salt Lake City-based quartet The Starkillers returns with another divine composition that will unquestionably appeal to all the fans of a contemporary indie rock sound. Here With You is their third single in a row this year and an appropriate follow-up to their recent works. However, some listeners might notice that the band picked up a slightly mellower sonic direction compared to their previous tracks. The best thing about their decision is that The Starkillers sound better than ever, and this style undoubtedly works to their advantage.
Perhaps the group explores the fundamentals of modern indie, but you’ll stumble upon some other sonic ingredients like alternative, soft rock, and indie pop. These additional elements decorate, uplift, and enhance Here With You on an entirely new level, and the band made sure to place these decorations in all the right places. The verses burst with soothing acoustic chord progressions, calm semi-distorted melodies, warm-sounding basslines, and moderate rhythmic sequences. The Starkillers retain this calmness from beginning to end, but you’ll hear how the band gradually upgrades each chorus with more details, power, and dynamics. Here With You is a cleverly assembled, catchy, memorable indie composition that will easily end up on your playlist. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
