The True Faith Announce Go To Ground LP; Share New Single

Shortly after the release of their acclaimed debut album, Boston post-punk stalwarts The True Faith, reemerge with their sophomore offering, “Go to Ground.” This album finds the five-piece further honing their sound as they continue to evolve from their synth-pop roots into the guitar-driven, emotive post-punk that they play today. Drawing from influences such as The Chameleons, Comsat Angels, and early U2, The True Faith deliver nine songs that reflect on the pressures of everyday life and the mechanisms we develop to cope.

The creation of “Go to Ground” came at a time where the members of the band were all going through major transformations in life. Vocalist Travis Benson states “we were all transitioning into new points in our lives and the new roles and expectations that come with them. Often, these new expectations of us are at odds with what we truly want or believe in. So this album was an attempt at reconciling these changes in our lives, even when they go against what our expectations were.”

The band tapped Ryan Santos Phillips (Spirits of Leo – Lux Perpetua NYC studios in Brooklyn, NY) to produce and engineer a new album after they played a show together in Brooklyn. Captivated by his abilities with respect to his work with Spirits of Leo, the group felt that he had both the vision and know-how to help them create an album that serves as a testament to their development as a group. According to the band, “our first album, ‘They Can Always Hurt You More,’ documented our sound at a point where we were eager and still trying to find our footing in the subcultural microcosm. Having some time to sit on the first album and reflect on what resonated the most with us, we began writing another album with a greater sense of purpose for our sound.”

“Go to Ground” is slated to be released on vinyl and CD by up-and-coming imprint à La Carte Records (Soft Kill, Lesser Care, Don’t Get Lemon) along with cassette versions from Candlepin Records (US), Summer Darling Tapes (Germany), and Honeyglider Records (Australia). The album will be released on January 10th, 2023.
