Hoon Release New Single/Video “Propane”

Wollongong’s heavy-hitting garage-punks Hoon have unveiled the new single and video for their exhilarating grunge-punk anthem, ‘Propane’, and have announced a string of national tour dates across August.  

Recorded at The Brain Studios with Clayton Segelov (Shady Nasty, Dear Seattle, Columbus), ‘Propane’ is a seedy grunge-punk thriller layered with gang vocals, gritty guitars and pounding drums, that marks as the latest taste of new music since the 17-minute frantic thrash of their 2019 release, Hoon 2.0. 

A thundering introduction to their forthcoming debut album, ‘Propane’ evokes the crucial sounds of ‘90s rock pioneers while maintaining the band’s firm position in the contemporary.

“The song ‘Propane’ is a sarcastic stab at corruption, lies and war in big money, politics and media,” says Hoon vocalist Daniel Breda.

“The clip is an irreverent and wry take on that idea to make a bit of joy and fun in an otherwise sad state.”

Accompanying the new single is the self-produced ‘Propane’ video, which serves as an absurd collection of free-to-air promos viewed from the perspective of our channel-surfing hero. 

A group whose songs ricochet between raucous two-minute thrillers to dynamic five-minute progressive ballads with hints of psychedelia and sludge flourishes, Hoon’s music is difficult to confine within a single genre.
