English indie rock band Cities In Dust has unleashed a brand new track. The Other Son is the third song in the row from the series of singles launched in 2021 and the first number this year. Since its inception, Cities In Dust has proven that indie rock music can still sound fresh, unique, entertaining, and sonically pleasing. The Other Son serves as more than a solid proof with its ear-appealing sound. Besides the sheer dominance of indie rock, you may also notice how these creative musicians combine only the best elements of psychedelic electronic music, synth wave, disco, alternative, and perhaps some other ingredients hidden deep down beneath the layers of pleasing orchestrations.
Cities In Dust also carries some properties of mid to late-nineties Brit-pop sound, but the band keeps their music in the indie waters as much as possible. The Other Son has characteristic arpeggiated psychedelic melodies, semi-distorted chord progressions, warm-sounding basslines, and energetic rhythmic support that define the sonic direction of the song. The calmy chants come as a cherry on the top that further enhance the listening experience. The Other Son represents an improved version of indie rock sound worth checking out. You can listen to the single on all streaming platforms.
