Blending influences from Queens Of The Stone Age, Soundgarden, and Orange Goblin on “Adrenaline”, the third single by Grunge/Metal hybrid The Timeouts, the intensely sung track is an energetic guitar-driven headbanger that will make you truly believe that the future of hard rock is safe in the hands (and instruments) of these talented British teenagers.
This is what the singer Kai Doyle said about the song: “Adrenaline is a song we’ve been playing for a really long fucking time, it was one of the first songs we wrote together as a band and it’s been one of our fan favourites to play live – we’ve closed the set with it for last 3 years! The song is about how getting everything you could ever want or desire really isn’t the be all and end all. It started as a story I had written about a guy doing a deal with the devil, selling his soul for all his earthly desires. But with everything he ever wanted, he felt as though he was losing the very essence of what it means to be alive and all he wanted was to feel something. He’s in denial about the whole ordeal because he can’t comprehend having everything and feeling nothing. This constant juxtaposition was the main inspiration for the video, and we tried to create this by having the energy get more and more chaotic as the video went on.”
