Great Wave recently released a brand new single called Orange Juice. This quartet continues to move the boundaries of dream-pop by stepping further every time they decide to put out some new music. That’s the case with Orange Juice, the latest single among many other in their discography. Great Wave delves even deeper into dream-pop aesthetics, but it seems this time they decided to incorporate more psychedelic rock, psych-pop, alternative, and indie rock along the way. Still, the group decided to include some odd rhythmic sequences that change the direction but don’t spoil the initial structure of this ear-appealing number.
The group paid a lot of attention while composing Orange Juice, and that’s vividly hearable throughout the entire song. Besides the sheer dominance of dream-pop, Great Wave dedicates most of their song to psychedelic aesthetics, which are enhancing the chord progressions, melodies, and harmonies on an entirely new level. The luxurious servings of reverb, echo, and delay effects are responsible for the recognizable dreamy ambiance. Still, these effects are not spoiling the orchestrations of the group, so you may hear every note, tone, and beat delivered by the band. Orange Juice is available on streaming platforms, such as Spotify, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and YouTube.
