Formed in the lost year of 2020, the members of Toxins have all been active in the San Diego Punk scene for years. Branson, Gui, Ale, and Matt started playing together in the late summer of 2020 with Sean joining in the early fall to solidify the lineup.
Toxins quickly released a two-song initial recording featuring songs written in the first months playing together. The songs were written by the band, recorded, and mastered by the bassist Ale, while drummer Gui designed all the album art. A small run of lathe-cut vinyl sold out within the first day.
The objective became clear early on; they wanted to play all the songs they loved and inspired them when they were young, with their own take, energy and fire.
All members have played in a myriad of genres of music, but melodic, aggressive punk has always felt like home.
