Finnish duo Odeons returns with another anthemic composition that shakes the boundaries of alternative rock. Not The One offers sturdy verses and even more powerful choruses, flawlessly assembled to reach sonic perfection. Still, this number hides even more surprises. This number also reveals a drumming performance by Jeff Friedl of legendary A Perfect Circle, so there’s no wonder why this energetic alternative rock song contains relentless dynamics. But that’s not all. The visual identity for this particular single is provided by Robert Fisher, a legendary visual artist who previously worked with the greats such as Nirvana. This dosage of information indicates that we have a potential radio hit in front of us that will most likely hit the top of the charts.
Odeons refuse limitations and going with the flow. Instead of offering yet another alternative rock tune like many other groups, the duo rather experiments with different elements to reach the desired sound. You may hear some contemporary alternative rock, but also a throwback to the nineties alternative scene as well. Still, there are decorations borrowed from indie rock, hard rock, and pop-rock music, which unquestionably influenced these musicians while writing/composing Not The One. You’ll be surprised how Not The One bursts with melodies, harmonies, energy, and dynamics at the same time. It’s a real deal for those who’re profoundly into alternative rock music. Not The One is available on Spotify, Soundcloud, and YouTube.
