Chaotic Neutral Gang – Demonstration

We all got lost in the vast sea of good indie rock music, and it seems to me that the indie scene is getting better as the years are passing by. Each group has something fresh and unique to offer to the broader auditorium, but sometimes their polished sound is so overwhelming that they might seem repetitious at some points. Luckily for all the fans of good indie rock music, Chaotic Neutral Gang leans towards the lo-fi, fuzzy, abrasive side of this particular genre. Chaotic Neutral Gang is a relatively new indie rock outlet, entirely operated by Eddie Watson. Inspired by the DIY ethos, Eddie took charge of the entire creative process from songwriting to producing.

His debut album Demonstration deals with various topics, moments, situations, and circumstances. Eddie decided to share some of his personal opinions about local and global politics, climate change, and many other similar topics. Still, he also implements a healthy dosage of good humor in particular numbers, so you will also experience a less serious side of Chaotic Neutral Gang. These themes share almost equal parts of this album, so Demonstration appears as a balanced material that will suit every mood. Besides the thematical aspect of this particular album, you may notice the abrasive audio aesthetics of this recording. Chaotic Neutral Gang leans more towards the fuzzy lo-fi than the polished sound, nurtured by so many indie artists nowadays.

Besides the dominant presence of indie rock music, you may hear some elements of power pop, post-punk, and punk rock lurking around during the entire recording. Nevertheless, Chaotic Neutral Gang remains devoted to indie rock aesthetics from scratch to finish, while the beforementioned elements serve more as accentuations that are decorating these compositions in one way or another. Eddie thought about every aspect of his debut material, so you will solely enjoy this collection of cleverly assembled indie numbers. From fuzzy guitars and semi-distorted basslines to robust drumming segments, Chaotic Neutral Gang demonstrates the aggressive side of indie rock in the brightest light. This material pushes indie rock as a genre to the very limits, and it may sound more like a punk rock record at some points, but in this case, these two genres are getting along in harmony. Demonstration is available at streaming services, such as Spotify, Bandcamp, iTunes, Apple Music, Pandora, Deezer, and YouTube, so pick up your preferred streaming service and give a couple of spins to this interesting album.
