This release includes two live recordings of H. Lillmeyer and Sascha Stadlmeier, both recorded in Augsburg during 2015. and in 2016. The first one is recorded at H2 – Zentrum für Gegenwartskunst Im Glaspalast and the second one is recorded at Die Ganze Bäckerei, so you’ll get two recording sessions at the price of one, which is totally fine by me. Sound can be best described as a giant clash of musique concrete and ambient drone with tons of various genres included at both recordings. The first recording session delivers eight minutes of quality sound exploration mixed up with experimentations on a guitar, but the guitar is probably overlayed with some effects, so you won’t recognize it at the first moment. Everything is well combined and I simply love how both artists deal with their equipment. Also, I like the idea of minimalism of this recording session with all volume ups and downs during their performance. The second recording brings more complex sounds, but at the same vein as their previous collaboration. This time, their performance has some industrial approach with tons of machines, scratches, chains, and ambient loops. The thing that impressed me the most is the quality of all the loops and sounds they’ve used on both recordings. All tones are listenable despiting the fact they are overlayed at the moments. This record deserves your full attention.
