Play Restart is a debut full-length record of Nord, a great quartet from Rijeka and besides being published by Geenger Records a couple years ago, it still worth mentioning on our pages today. Because this record is still relevant today, with all the great innovative ideas placed at the right spots, tremendous music that inspires us to spin this record over and over again without hesitation and of course, some mind-blowing melodic hooks which keep stuck in our ears for hours after the enjoyable consumption of this great debut. The musicians surrounding this interesting band are no strangers when it comes to writing and composing some proper material, so Play Restart is a perfectly executed debut which possesses tons of vital elements for potential radio hits. Their blend of modern alternative, progressive rock, post-metal, indie and 90s grunge music mixed up with some impressive vocal skills can even pair with some well-known names in the music industry who are playing this mashup for decades. Each part of every song comes like a logical explanation and a solid continuation of a previously heard part. The band upgrades sound as the album passes by, compositions are evolving in something greater while listening and you’ll be pleasantly surprised with all the brilliant ideas incorporated during the recording process. Nord sounds so tight in many cases, with enough strength to bend your spine in multiple directions, but also with so many melodic moments that will immediately melt your heart. This debut sounds much alike Disturbed meets Incubus meets Soundgarden meets Alice In Chains, but with much better arrangements and ideas.
