Buzzkillz – Major Fucking Complications EP (Fast Decade Records)

Although Fast Decade Records primarily publish melodic punk bands, there’s a wide spectrum of bands in their catalog  who extend musical experience to another levels. Buzzkillz are one of them and their brand new EP called Major Fucking Complications fucking rips. Their music carries roots of punk rock, but actually there’s a lot more to it. Somewhere between fast tempos and plain punk rock riffs filled with octaves, they also combine contrabass and guitar scales which are characteristic for rockabilly and surf rock music, but still after all those influences taken from other music genres, Buzzkillz still possess the essence of a punk rock sound. Guitars keep melodies flowing with standard surf rock scales and that reverby effect over the top is giving a nice atmosphere of the 50s music, but still Buzzkillz are keeping their tightness with classic distorted riffs while their rhythm section is killing it at the background with nice bass scales played on contrabass and well produced drums who sound amazing all the time. Speaking of their music, I like how all the tracks are connected between, so the whole material is like a small story played to the consumers of this EP. No matter if you’re fan of punk rock, rockabilly or surf rock music, you’ll enjoy in this short, but sweet material even if you’re not a fan of any of the genres I mentioned above. Also, the cover art is amazing with dozen of people staring at in their cell phones while the rat who’s holding beer bottle is at the spotlight of the cover art. Major Fucking Complications EP comes vinyl, CD and digital form, so you can pick your weapon of choice at Fast Decade Records website and enjoy in a great music by Buzzkillz in no time.
