“LOGS,” the second single from Diemen Sniep’s forthcoming album, Nobody Likes a Pity Party, is a rollercoaster of universal uncertainties and hard-won reassurances. The track taps into our collective anxieties about how we spend our time and the sacrifices required to turn our dreams into reality.
The song has the frontman lamenting “It’s always been the same / Nothing will change,” resigning himself to defeat before the song reaches its finale and leaves us with one final question: What will it take to change our way of living?
Somewhere at the crossroads of Swans, The Birthday Party and Talk Talk, Diemen Sniep brings noise rock, post-punk tension, dreamlike soundscapes and infectious melodies into collision.
The result of years of work and uncompromising ambition, Nobody Likes a Pity Party embraces contrasts, moving between violence and fragility, tension and contemplation, immediacy and an obsession with detail.
Rather than being confined to a single studio, the album took shape across numerous locations in Belgium and the Netherlands: IJland Studios, Squid Studio, Chez Saint-Georges, Wood Studio, Kasbah Studios, Sphères Sonores, Koko Records and “Chad’s Studio.” A list almost as endless as the ambitions behind the record.
