DICE Share New Single ‘Echo’

Perth’s DICE return with their sophomore album, I Thought The Altitude Would Make It Worth The View. The album contains previously released singles ‘Call Me For A Good Time’, ‘Loose Change’, ‘COOLER’ and another seven tracks including new single ‘Echo’.

For the album DICE pivoted away from the grit of their debut toward a more expansive, blissful, lighter, euphoric world. This isn’t just a change in mood; it’s a total recalibration of their sonic DNA. To facilitate this evolution, the band decamped to Hollywood’s legendary East West Studios to work with Joe Chiccarelli, a producer whose hands-on approach with The White Stripes (Icky Thump), The Shins (Wincing the Night Away), The Strokes, helped DICE navigate a new era of sophisticated indie-rock without losing their foundational edge. The band also brought in friends Jay Watson (GUM, Tame Impala) and G Flip to work on tracks with them.

I Thought The Altitude Would Make It Worth The View is more than a sophomore follow-up; it is a statement to what DICE were able to achieve. It is windows down, wind in your hair, music, a record designed to make the rest of the world drift away for a second, leaving only the sound of a band finally flying at their own altitude.

On the new single ‘Echo’, which comes with a music video, the band deliberately stripped back the bells and whistles, eschewing keyboards to capture the kinetic spark of four people in a room.

Says the band; “‘Echo’ began as a look through the lens at someone else, watching them be completely, unapologetically free from an outside perspective. We wanted to capture that feeling of seeing someone express themselves without a single care for who’s judging them, but as we got into the studio and the chorus shifted, the song became more about the balance between two different worlds. Lyrically, it’s super visual; we wanted to bottle up that reckless, 11:00pm energy of being 16 and sneaking out of the house to a party.”

They continue “It’s about embracing the things you might usually repress, letting it all out in the spotlight, and realizing we can both exist in our own lanes and still appreciate the energy in each other. Good vibes, no judgments, and just keeping it moving.”

Comprising of Ben Hodge, Tom King, Regan Beazley, and Sam Barrett-Lennard, the Perth-based four-piece makes music for authentic connection. Following the 2024 release of their ARIA-charting debut album, the band rapidly grew from local indie favourites into a global touring act.

In 2025, they expanded their sonic palette with the WINGS EP and took their electrifying live show to larger stages across London, New York City, Toronto, Amsterdam and Sydney. At home, the band has maintained a place on triple j’s Most Played Artists list for three consecutive years with fan favourite songs including ‘Chasing Hearts’, ‘Alter Ego’, and ‘Hourglass’.
