NYC underground staples Star Card have released their debut LP, Trash World, via the genre-free label Already Dead Tapes. The album has already garnered significant praise from outlets like Stereogum and The Big Takeover, with critics comparing their sound to alt-rock icons like Superchunk and The Breeders.
Founded by Calley Nelson and Brendan Landis after a ritualistic meeting at an altar for Elliott Smith, the band has become famous for their eccentric live shows where they throw playing cards and tarot decks into the crowd. Trash World was self-produced at Headless Studios in Brooklyn and delivers a potent mix of eerie lo-fi origins and full-band noise-rock power. Limited edition tapes are currently available through Already Dead Tapes for collectors of the scene.
