Gabriel Moonlight Goes Full Neon Goth On “Fishnet Stockings”

If you’re even slightly into dark, artsy, dance-floor weirdness, Gabriel Moonlight is about to be your new obsession. The 22-year-old Maidenhead native is still fresh in the game, barely a couple months into releases, and he’s already pulling radio spins across Europe, the UK, and the US. Not bad for a guy who makes avant-garde electronic tracks that feel like techno, rock, and gothic poetry had a beautifully dramatic meltdown.

His new single “Fishnet Stockings” is short, punchy, and low-key addictive.
The beat slides in smooth, the hook straight up snatches your soul, and then that guitar riff pops in like “yeah, I’m here too,” giving it just enough rock flavor so it doesn’t turn into basic club fluff. It’s the kind of song that gets stuck in your head while you’re walking home, brushing your teeth, existing… and you’re like, okay cool, guess I live here now.

Lyrically, Gabriel is fully in his dark romantic era.Heavy gothic vibes, poetic energy, but flipped into something modern, flirty, and just a little unhinged in the best way. The track feels like obsession, danger, elegance, and attraction all crashing together under neon lights. It’s dramatic, yeah, but it’s the cool kind of dramatic, not the try-hard, theater kind.

What really sells “Fishnet Stockings” is the vibe. It’s got that late-night, walking-through-the-city-with-your-headphones-on energy. The kind of song that makes everything around you feel like a scene in a movie. It doesn’t beg for attention, it just quietly owns the room and lets you come to it.

It feels cinematic without trying to be a movie soundtrack. It feels danceable without sounding generic. And it feels personal without being cringe. That balance is hard to hit, especially this early in a career, but Gabriel somehow lands it.

The chorus hits, and suddenly you’re humming it without realizing it. It’s catchy in that sneaky way, the kind that creeps up on you later when you’re doing literally anything else. And that final “in fishnet stockings” outro? Yeah, that’s the line that sticks.

Bottom line: Gabriel Moonlight isn’t here to play it safe. He’s here to build his own weird, stylish, gothic-electronic universe, and “Fishnet Stockings” is a slick, confident step into it. If he keeps this energy, he’s going to keep pulling curious ears in fast, he’s not chasing trends, he’s building a mood.

Gabriel Moonlight just made looking unfair sound insanely cool. And honestly? We’re here for it.
