Swiss quartet Lone Assembly presents their debut album, “Knots & Chains,” an exploration of control cloaked in a gothic aesthetic. The record is a new wave/synth-pop journey through pain, alienation, and hope, examining control exerted by others, self-control, and the control of the places we inhabit. The band, which formed as a space for healing, now delivers hymns born of profound darkness and luminous strength, continuing the urgency evident in their first new wave songs.
