Via, the short-lived but ferocious Boston/New York underground band, has had their long-lost, self-titled EP released by Dromedary Records. Recorded in 1987, the band featured Thalia Zedek (Come, Live Skull) and James Apt (Six Finger Satellite). Described by Chris Brokaw as possibly Thalia’s best band, the six 8-track basement recordings showcase “loud, aggressive, and actually ferocious” post-hardcore before Come existed. Listening to the EP, which required digitizing rough mixes, is like opening a time capsule of pure late ’80s East Coast sound.
