California punk veterans Bad Cop/Bad Cop are set to release their highly anticipated new album, Lighten Up, on September 19 via Fat Wreck Chords and Hopeless Records. The record arrives alongside news of an unprecedented collaboration between the two labels, each legendary in shaping the modern punk and alternative scenes.
For guitarist/vocalist Stacey Dee, the album represents the band’s most authentic statement yet: “This record really means the world to me. We trusted ourselves to make something we love with people we love… these are our personal stories.”
Known for their empowering lyricism, fiery live shows, and unapologetic spirit, Bad Cop/Bad Cop continue to inspire with songs that balance vulnerability, resilience, and joy. Lighten Up captures the band at their strongest, pushing boundaries while staying rooted in DIY punk ethos.
